Quick answer
Jesus promises to reveal what the person who comes, hears, and obeys Him is like. Coming to Him and doing His words go together.
Overview
This verse introduces the closing parable of the sermon, defining the true disciple by three marks: coming to Jesus, hearing His words, and doing them. Hearing alone is insufficient; obedience is essential. Coming to Christ in faith is the foundation from which obedient action flows.
