Quick answer

Jesus speaks of other sheep not of this fold whom He will gather into one flock under one shepherd. He foretells the inclusion of the Gentiles in His people.

Overview

The 'other sheep' point beyond Israel to believers from all nations, gathered by the same shepherd's voice. Christ's death secures not only Jewish believers but a worldwide flock. The result is one unified people of God under one Lord.

Christ at the center

John declares him plainly: the eternal Word made flesh, the Lamb of God, the great 'I AM' — bread, light, door, shepherd, way, truth, life, resurrection — that you may believe and have life in his name.

How John 10:16 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
