Quick answer

All the offspring of Israel will be justified in Yahweh and will rejoice. God's people are declared righteous through him.

Overview

The chapter closes with the promise that God's people are 'justified in Yahweh' — counted righteous through their relationship to him, not their own works. This forensic language of justification blossoms in Paul's gospel: believers are justified in Christ. It is a ground for joy, for our right standing rests securely in God.

Christ at the center

Isaiah sees him most clearly: the virgin's son Immanuel, the child on David's throne, the shoot from Jesse, the light to the nations, and above all the Suffering Servant pierced for our transgressions (ch. 53).

How Isaiah 45:25 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
