Quick answer
God's anger will be spent and satisfied, and the people will know He spoke in zeal. Even His wrath serves to make His holiness known.
Overview
The Lord declares His wrath will run its full course until it is satisfied and His jealous zeal vindicated. The aim of judgment is recognition, that the people 'will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken.' God's wrath is never capricious but flows from holy zeal, and at the cross that zeal was fully satisfied in the place of all who believe.
