Quick answer

Paul hopes to stay with them, perhaps for the winter, and be helped on his way. It matters because it reflects warm partnership between the apostle and the church.

Overview

Paul expresses hope for an extended stay, even wintering at Corinth, and being sent on with their support. This mutual fellowship shows the bonds of love and cooperation in gospel work. His plans depend on the church's partnership in his ongoing mission.
