Quick answer
Boaz fathers Obed, and Obed fathers Jesse, the father of King David.
Overview
This verse brings the line to Jesse, whose son David would become Israel's greatest king (1 Samuel 16; Ruth 4:17). The Chronicler is now just one step from the climax of Judah's genealogy. From the 'stump of Jesse' would also come the promised Branch, the Messiah (Isaiah 11:1).
