The Bible's first promise, narrowing across the ages to one child.
In the ruins of Eden God promises an offspring of the woman who will crush the serpent. The promise narrows — to Abraham's seed, to David's son, to a child called Mighty God — until "the fullness of time" when God sends his Son, born of a woman, to defeat the dragon at last.- 1
Enmity and a promised offspring
Genesis 3:15And I will make enemies Of you and the woman, And of your offspring and her Descendant; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise Him on the heel.”
The seed of the woman will crush the serpent's head. - 2
Through Abraham's seed
Genesis 22:18And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

A son of David forever
2 Samuel 7:12When your days are finished and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come from you, and I will establish his kingdom.
God promises David an everlasting throne. - 4
A child is born
Isaiah 9:6For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Born of a woman
Galatians 4:4But when the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,

The woman and the dragon
Revelation 12:5And she gave birth to a Son, a male, who is going to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her Child was caught up to God and to His throne.
