The Bible's first promise, narrowing across the ages to one child.
In the ruins of Eden God promises an offspring of the woman who will crush the serpent. The promise narrows — to Abraham's seed, to David's son, to a child called Mighty God — until "the fullness of time" when God sends his Son, born of a woman, to defeat the dragon at last.- 1
Enmity and a promised offspring
Genesis 3:15I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.”
The seed of the woman will crush the serpent's head. - 2
Through Abraham's seed
Genesis 22:18All the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring, because you have obeyed my voice.”

A son of David forever
2 Samuel 7:12When your days are fulfilled, and you sleep with your fathers, I will set up your offspring after you, who will proceed out of your body, and I will establish his kingdom.
God promises David an everlasting throne. - 4
A child is born
Isaiah 9:6For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The woman and the dragon
Revelation 12:5She gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. Her child was caught up to God, and to his throne.
The male child who will rule the nations, and the dragon thrown down.
