From manna in the wilderness to the bread of life.
God rains down bread from heaven to feed Israel in the desert, teaching that "man shall not live by bread alone." Centuries later Jesus says, "I am the bread of life," takes bread, breaks it, and says, "This is my body" — the true bread come down from heaven.- 1
Manna in the wilderness
Exodus 16:4Then the Lord said to Moses, “Look, I’m going to rain down food from heaven for you. Each day the people can go out and pick up as much food as they need for that day. I will test them in this to see whether or not they will follow my instructions.

Not by bread alone
Deuteronomy 8:3Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

The bread of life
John 6:35Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

This is my body
Matthew 26:26As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.”

1 Corinthians 10:17And though we are many, we all eat from one loaf of bread, showing that we are one body.
