Quick answer

These powers war against the Lamb, but the Lamb conquers them as Lord of lords and King of kings. His people share His victory as the called, chosen, and faithful.

Overview

The crucified and risen Lamb is the supreme sovereign, so the outcome of the conflict is never in doubt. His titles, later given to the rider on the white horse, declare His absolute lordship. Believers triumph not by their own might but by belonging to Him, marked by God's effectual call, election, and persevering faithfulness.

Christ at the center

Revelation ends the story with the slain-yet-standing Lamb who is worthy, the Lion of Judah, the Alpha and Omega, the returning King who makes all things new and dwells with his people forever.

How Revelation 17:14 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
