Quick answer

Hezekiah acquired cities and vast flocks and herds, for God had given him great possessions. His wealth is explicitly credited to God's gift.

Overview

The Chronicler is careful to attribute the king's abundance to God rather than to his own enterprise (cf. Deuteronomy 8:18). This guards against the very pride the narrative later condemns. Recognizing all good things as gifts from God remains the posture of grateful faith.
