Quick answer

The rest of the Kohathites received ten cities by lot from the half-tribe of Manasseh and others. The non-priestly Kohathites also received their towns.

Overview

Beyond the Aaronic priests, the other Kohathite families needed dwelling places too, and these were assigned by lot. Casting lots entrusted the distribution to God's providence rather than human preference (Proverbs 16:33). The orderly allotment shows that every branch of the Levites was provided for in God's gracious arrangement.
