Quick answer

Heman's colleague Asaph stood at his right hand, descended from Berechiah and Shimea. Asaph led a second great choir in the temple.

Overview

Asaph was a renowned worship leader to whom twelve psalms are attributed (Psalms 50, 73-83). Stationed beside Heman, he represents another branch of Levi devoted to leading God's people in song. The naming of Asaph reminds us that much of Israel's inspired worship came through these appointed musicians, and their psalms still teach the church to praise.
