Quick answer

The temple singers and gatekeepers remain at their posts because the Levites provided for them. Every appointed role in worship was honored and sustained.

Overview

The singers descended from Asaph and the gatekeepers continued their duties uninterrupted, since their fellow Levites prepared their portions for them. The reference to David's commandment and the king's seer roots this music ministry in the worship order established generations earlier. The whole picture is of God's house functioning as designed, with praise and service flowing together.
