Quick answer
David ascribes to the LORD all greatness, power, glory, victory, and majesty, declaring the whole creation and the kingdom to be his.
Overview
This sweeping doxology confesses God's absolute sovereignty over heaven and earth and his supremacy as 'head above all.' It became a touchstone of Israel's worship and stands behind the traditional ending of the Lord's Prayer ('for yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory'). Recognizing God's universal reign frees believers from pride in their own giving and centers all glory on him.
