The Last Adam

Two men, two trees, two destinies for the human race.

   The first Adam, in God's image

   Genesis 1:27

   So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

   Humanity made to represent God.

   The fall

   Genesis 3:6

   And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

   Adam's disobedience brings sin and death.

   One man's obedience

   Romans 5:19

   For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

   "By the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous."

   In Christ all made alive

   1 Corinthians 15:22

   For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

   "As in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive."

   A life-giving spirit

   1 Corinthians 15:45

   And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

   "The last Adam became a life-giving spirit."
