Quick answer
God now warns that disobedience brings consequences if Israel refuses to listen and obey. Covenant unfaithfulness carries serious cost.
Overview
Here begins the section of covenant curses, the sober counterpart to the blessings. Refusal to listen and obey breaks the covenant relationship and invites judgment. These warnings reveal the seriousness of sin and God's holiness, and they magnify the grace of the gospel, in which Christ bears the covenant curse for His people (Galatians 3:13).
