Quick answer

Their territory ran from Mahanaim over all Bashan, the whole kingdom of Og, including the sixty towns of Jair.

Overview

The eastern half of Manasseh received the vast and fertile region of Bashan. The 'towns of Jair' (Havvoth Jair) were named for a descendant of Manasseh who had captured them (Numbers 32:41). This wide inheritance displays God's abundant generosity to His people.

Christ at the center

Joshua — the same name as Jesus, 'the LORD saves' — leads God's people into their inheritance, a shadow of the greater Joshua who brings us into the true rest and the promised land that remains.

How Joshua 13:30 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
