Quick answer
God foretells that Hanamel will offer Jeremiah his field at Anathoth, which Jeremiah has the right and duty to redeem. It frames the purchase as an act of covenant obligation and faith.
Overview
The kinsman-redeemer law (Lev. 25:25) allowed a relative to buy family land to keep it within the clan. God arranges this ordinary legal opportunity to become a sign of hope. Jeremiah's redemption of his kinsman's land quietly foreshadows the greater Redeemer who buys back what is lost, securing the inheritance of His people (Eph. 1:14).
