Quick answer

The righteous are assured it will be well, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds. Amid judgment, God distinguishes and blesses the righteous.

Overview

In contrast to the surrounding doom, God promises good to the righteous. This reflects the biblical principle that one reaps what one sows (Galatians 6:7-8). It offers hope that God remembers the faithful even in times of national judgment, ultimately securing their reward in Christ.

Christ at the center

Isaiah sees him most clearly: the virgin's son Immanuel, the child on David's throne, the shoot from Jesse, the light to the nations, and above all the Suffering Servant pierced for our transgressions (ch. 53).

How Isaiah 3:10 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
