Quick answer

The sons of Levi are Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. From this line will come the priestly tribe.

Overview

Levi's three sons are recorded, founding the families later set apart for priestly service. Kohath's line in particular will produce Moses and Aaron. This genealogy thus quietly marks the origins of the tribe entrusted with Israel's worship and the tabernacle.

Christ at the center

From the first promise that the seed of the woman would crush the serpent (3:15), through Abraham's blessing to all nations and Judah's coming ruler, Genesis sows every seed that flowers in Christ — the true offspring, the better Adam, the ram caught for Isaac.
