Quick answer

The Hivites, Arkites, and Sinites are also named among Canaan's descendants. The list of Canaanite peoples continues.

Overview

These additional Canaanite groups fill out the picture of the peoples occupying the promised land. Some, like the Hivites, appear later in Israel's history. The thorough record underscores that God knows and oversees every nation, working His sovereign plan that culminates in the salvation brought by Christ.

Christ at the center

From the first promise that the seed of the woman would crush the serpent (3:15), through Abraham's blessing to all nations and Judah's coming ruler, Genesis sows every seed that flowers in Christ — the true offspring, the better Adam, the ram caught for Isaac.
