Quick answer

There is nothing better than to enjoy one's work, for that is our portion, since no one can see what comes after. Present, God-given enjoyment of labor is wisdom amid life's uncertainties.

Overview

Qoheleth again commends finding joy in one's work as the appropriate response to life's limits. Since we cannot see beyond death by our own observation, we are to receive each day's labor as our portion from God. This counsel encourages grateful, faithful living in the present, trusting the future to God who has revealed eternal hope in Christ.
