Quick answer

God will establish Israel as a holy people set apart to himself, if they keep his ways.

Overview

Holiness means being consecrated wholly to God for his purposes. This fulfills God's sworn promise to make Israel his treasured nation. The call to walk in his ways shows that holiness is lived out in obedience, anticipating the holy people Christ forms by his Spirit.

Christ at the center

Moses promised a Prophet like himself to whom Israel must listen (18:15); Jesus is that Prophet, the one who keeps the covenant we broke and becomes the curse for us by hanging on a tree (Gal 3:13).
