Quick answer

The word of God spreads, disciples multiply greatly, and many priests come to faith. Wise order in the church frees the gospel to flourish.

Overview

With the conflict resolved, Luke marks another stage of growth in his recurring summaries. The conversion of many priests shows the gospel penetrating even the religious establishment. That obedience 'to the faith' is highlighted, presenting saving faith as a wholehearted submission to Christ.

Christ at the center

Acts is the risen Christ continuing his work by the Spirit through the church, as the apostles preach that there is salvation in no other name under heaven.

How Acts 6:7 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
