Quick answer
Nebuzaradan burns the temple, the palace, and every great house in Jerusalem. The house of God and the city are consumed by fire.
Overview
The burning of Yahweh's temple is the climactic tragedy of Kings, signifying the apparent departure of God's presence because of Judah's sin. The destruction fulfills the warnings of covenant judgment given since Moses. Yet the loss of the earthly temple ultimately points forward to Christ, in whom God dwells and whose body, raised up, is the true temple (John 2:19-21).
