Quick answer
God declares that Sennacherib will retreat the way he came and never enter Jerusalem. It shows the LORD overruling a mighty empire by His mere word.
Overview
Concluding Isaiah's prophecy against Assyria, Yahweh promises that the invader will be turned back without firing an arrow into the city. The boastful king who defied the living God is brought to nothing by divine decree. This rescue foreshadows the greater deliverance God gives His people in Christ, who likewise saves not by human strength but by God's sovereign promise.
