The Avvites and Sepharvites added Nibhaz, Tartak, Adrammelech, and Anammelech to the region's many gods, the last receiving child sacrifices. This catalog of idolatry climaxes in the same abominable practice that helped condemn Israel. The repetition shows that the land's new inhabitants brought the very sins that had defiled it before.
