Quick answer

Paul tells of God's grace at work in the Macedonian churches as a model of generous giving. Their example shows what grace produces.

Overview

Beginning his appeal for the collection for the saints in Jerusalem, Paul points to 'the grace of God' given to the Macedonian churches. He frames their giving not as mere human generosity but as a work of divine grace. Their example will encourage the Corinthians toward the same liberality.
