Quick answer

Solomon answered all her questions, leaving nothing she asked unexplained. It demonstrates the depth and completeness of his God-given wisdom.

Overview

No matter how difficult the queen's questions, Solomon had a satisfying answer for each, withholding nothing. This fulfilled God's promise to give him unmatched wisdom (3:12). His ability to illumine every hard matter foreshadows Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3), and who alone fully answers the deepest questions of the human heart.

Christ at the center

Solomon's glory, wisdom, and temple where God's presence dwells are a shadow of the greater Son of David — 'one greater than Solomon is here' — and of the true Temple, Christ himself.
