Quick answer

To one the Spirit gives a word of wisdom, to another a word of knowledge. Different believers receive different Spirit-given abilities.

Overview

Paul begins listing specific gifts, starting with the utterance of wisdom and of knowledge, both given by the same Spirit. These likely involve Spirit-enabled insight and understanding for the church's benefit. The repetition of 'the same Spirit' keeps the focus on the unity of source amid the diversity of gifts, reinforcing humility and mutual dependence.
