Quick answer
The line continued through Amon and then Josiah. It names the kings leading toward the end of the monarchy.
Overview
Amon was wicked, but his son Josiah led one of Judah's greatest reformations and renewed covenant faithfulness (2 Kings 22-23). The Chronicler records this descent as the monarchy nears its decline. Josiah's faithfulness shines as a foretaste of the righteous reign that God's people awaited in the coming Messiah.
