Quick answer

David charged all Israel to keep God's commandments so they might possess and pass on the good land. It calls the nation to covenant obedience before God and the assembly.

Overview

Speaking before Israel and in God's hearing, David urged the people to observe all the Lord's commands so the land would remain their inheritance for generations. This echoes the blessings and warnings of Deuteronomy tied to obedience. The call to seek and keep God's word remains the path of blessing for his people in every age.
