Quick answer

Ram fathers Amminadab and then Nahshon, a leader of Judah during the wilderness years.

Overview

Nahshon was prince of Judah in the wilderness and a figure in the Exodus generation (Numbers 1:7; 2:3). The Chronicler traces the line through these honored ancestors toward David. Their inclusion shows the continuity of God's faithfulness from the Exodus to the monarchy and on to the Messiah (Matthew 1:4).
