Quick answer

Christ affirms, 'Yes, I come quickly,' and John responds, 'Amen! Come, Lord Jesus.' The book closes with the believer's longing for Christ's return.

Overview

Jesus' final word in Scripture is the promise of his certain and swift return. John's reply voices the church's heartfelt longing, an echo of the early Christian prayer 'Maranatha' (1 Corinthians 16:22). This is the proper posture of God's people: eager, hopeful expectation of their returning Lord.

Christ at the center

Revelation ends the story with the slain-yet-standing Lamb who is worthy, the Lion of Judah, the Alpha and Omega, the returning King who makes all things new and dwells with his people forever.
