Quick answer

The nations walk in the city's light and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it. The redeemed of all peoples honor God in the new creation.

Overview

This draws on Isaiah 60, where nations and kings stream to Zion's light bringing their treasures. It shows the gospel's reach to all peoples, gathered into the people of God through the Lamb (cf. 5:9; 7:9). The best of human cultures is purified and offered to the glory of God.

Christ at the center

Revelation ends the story with the slain-yet-standing Lamb who is worthy, the Lion of Judah, the Alpha and Omega, the returning King who makes all things new and dwells with his people forever.

How Revelation 21:24 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
