Quick answer

The seventh bowl is poured into the air, and a voice from the throne declares, 'It is done!' God's judgment reaches its completion.

Overview

With the final bowl a loud voice from God's throne announces 'It is done,' signaling the consummation of his wrath. The declaration recalls Christ's cry 'It is finished' on the cross, here marking the completion of judgment rather than redemption. God's purposes against the rebellious world are brought to their decisive end.

Christ at the center

Revelation ends the story with the slain-yet-standing Lamb who is worthy, the Lion of Judah, the Alpha and Omega, the returning King who makes all things new and dwells with his people forever.

How Revelation 16:17 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
