Quick answer

He swears by the eternal Creator that there will be no more delay. God's purposes will not be postponed any longer.

Overview

The oath is made in the name of the everlasting God who made heaven, earth, and sea—grounding the certainty of the promise in the Creator's eternal power. "No longer delay" answers the saints' cry "How long?" (Revelation 6:10): the time of God's seeming patience is nearing its end. It assures suffering believers that justice is sure and not endlessly deferred. The God who created all things will surely bring His plan to completion.

Christ at the center

Revelation ends the story with the slain-yet-standing Lamb who is worthy, the Lion of Judah, the Alpha and Omega, the returning King who makes all things new and dwells with his people forever.

How Revelation 10:6 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
