Quick answer

John is recommissioned to prophesy again to many peoples, nations, languages, and kings. His task is renewed and made worldwide in scope.

Overview

Having eaten the scroll, John must now speak its message universally—the fourfold formula stresses the global reach of his prophecy. This renews his calling for the visions still to come, including the chapters that follow. It shows that God's word of warning and salvation is for all the earth, not one nation only. The breadth anticipates the gospel going to every tribe and tongue (Revelation 5:9; 7:9).

Christ at the center

Revelation ends the story with the slain-yet-standing Lamb who is worthy, the Lion of Judah, the Alpha and Omega, the returning King who makes all things new and dwells with his people forever.

How Revelation 10:11 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
