This verse gives the reason for praise: God's powerful deeds in creation and redemption, and the surpassing greatness of His own being. Worship rightly responds both to God's works and to His character. The fullest of His mighty acts is the redemption accomplished in Christ, in whom God's greatness is most clearly displayed (Ephesians 1:19-20).
