Quick answer

God reveals His word, statutes, and ordinances to Israel. He graciously gave His covenant people His law and self-revelation.

Overview

Beyond ruling nature, God uniquely disclosed His will to Israel through His word and law. This special revelation was a privilege of grace, not merit. It pointed forward to Christ, in whom God's full and final revelation has come (Hebrews 1:1-2).

Christ at the center

The Psalms are Christ's own prayer book and a gallery of his portraits — the suffering one of Psalm 22, the risen Lord of Psalm 16, the priest-king of Psalm 110, the Son to whom the nations are given.

How Psalms 147:19 points to him is part of the one story that runs through all Scripture — meet Jesus at the heart of the web, or follow a trail that traces him from Genesis to Revelation.
