Quick answer

People ruin their own lives by folly, then blame God for it. We often resent the Lord for troubles our own sin caused.

Overview

This penetrating proverb observes that a man's own foolishness subverts his way, yet his heart rages against Yahweh as if God were to blame. It exposes the human tendency to deny responsibility and accuse God for self-inflicted ruin. The gospel calls us instead to honest repentance, acknowledging our sin and finding in Christ both forgiveness and the grace to walk a wiser path.
