Overview
The gold ladle of incense added a fragrant offering symbolizing prayer rising to God (cf. Ps 141:2; Rev 5:8). Gold and incense together expressed honor and devotion. The detail anticipates the worship offered to Christ, to whom incense and gold were later brought (Matt 2:11).
