Quick answer
Israel travels from Zalmonah and camps at Punon. It is another stage on the southern approach to Moab.
Overview
Punon lay in the region east of the Arabah, an area later associated with copper mining. This portion of the route was where the people grumbled and were judged by the fiery serpents, and where the bronze serpent was lifted up (Numbers 21:4-9). That sign Jesus applied to His own crucifixion (John 3:14-15), making this region a backdrop for one of the clearest Old Testament pictures of the gospel.
