Overview
The shut door pictures the decisive end of the day of salvation, whether at death or Christ's return. Those left outside appeal on the basis of acquaintance, but the Lord disowns them as unknown. The verse warns that opportunity has a limit and presumption is no substitute for true relationship with Christ.
