Overview
Maon and Carmel were the territory of Nabal and Abigail, and the wilderness of Ziph was where David hid from Saul (1 Samuel 23-25). These hill towns became the backdrop of David's testing before his kingship. God's later dealings with His anointed unfolded across this inherited land.
