Quick answer

God swears by His great name that no Jew in Egypt will invoke His name in oaths anymore. Their covenant standing before Him is severed.

Overview

The Lord takes a solemn oath that the Judeans in Egypt will be so judged that none will appeal to His name as living God. To lose the right to call on Yahweh signifies a tragic break in covenant relationship. This severe word warns of the danger of forfeiting fellowship with God, while the gospel restores the privilege of calling on His name through Christ, in whom believers cry 'Abba, Father.'
