Overview
The Lord pronounces that Jehoiakim's line will not endure on David's throne and his body will lie unburied in disgrace. This is the just consequence of despising God's word. While the Davidic promise stood, this faithless king forfeited his part in it, anticipating the true and faithful Son of David, Christ, who alone secures the throne forever.
