Quick answer

God announces such disaster on this place that whoever hears it will be stunned. The judgment will be appalling to all.

Overview

Speaking as the Lord of Armies, God declares he will bring evil that makes ears tingle, a phrase signaling catastrophic, shocking judgment (2 Kings 21:12). The address to kings and inhabitants holds the whole nation accountable. The severity of the warning matches the gravity of the sins about to be named.
