Quick answer
God will cast them out into an unknown land where they will serve other gods day and night, showing them no favor. Exile will give them over to the very idolatry they chose.
Overview
The judgment fits the crime: those who wanted other gods will be sent where they serve them relentlessly, far from home and divine favor. This is a sobering picture of being handed over to the consequences of one's chosen sin (Romans 1:24). Yet even here God's purpose is not final abandonment, for He will later promise restoration and, in Christ, full reconciliation.
